Testimonials
“I can't recommend highly enough Historic Texas Tours. I take tours in every city I travel to, and HTT was first-class. Shelley was very knowledgable and interested in the people on her tour. I liked that she went the extra mile by having free bottled water on her tour...something the big name companies do not do. Those little things make for a nice experience. I did 2 tours with Shelley, the Missions Tour and the Foodie Tour. Of course they were quite different, but both excellent. The MISSIONS TOUR was the most interesting thing I did in San Antonio. While the FOODIE TOUR was just fun and delicious! And, I was definitely full at the end! My only regret was that I did not do the FOODIE TOUR earlier in the week so I had more time to go back to the wonderful restaurants. So thanks to Shelley and to the restaurant personnel who treated us so wonderfully!”

Texas Hill Country & Winery Tour
A favorite destination for visitors to San Antonio and locals alike would be The Texas Hill Country. Contrary to popular belief, Texas is not all a flat, dry, desert with tumbleweeds blowing through the dusty streets of old west towns. Although Texas does have some desert lands, it is also home to the Franklin Mountains in West Texas, The Piney Woods of East Texas, the warm, sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, and the rolling, green, tree laden hills of The Texas Hill Country. The Hill Country spans many miles that are home to quaint but thriving Texas towns. Most were settled by German immigrants in the 1800’s. Many of these towns have beautiful, historic buildings that have been converted into unique little shops, restaurants, and museums.
The Texas Hill Country has become also known as “The Napa Valley” of Texas. There are more that 28 wineries in The Texas Hill Country that have unique wines, beautiful tasting rooms, and lush vineyards.
Historic Texas Tours likes to take guests on tours that you won’t find with anyone else so, our Texas Hill Country & Winery Tour explores those places “off the beaten path” where there are less people and more one-on-one attention!
Our first stop will be Smittyville. This unique place is tucked in among the trees but just off of the highway and has something for everyone! Guests will enjoy muffins and coffee and time to get in a little shopping. Unlike many places in the Hill Country, Smittyville has unique gifts and souvenirs that are very reasonably priced.
Next, it’s off to the thriving metropolis of Comfort, Texas! Guests will enjoy strolling historic High Street. Many of the buildings on High Street are original and have historical markers explaining their origins. There are great little antique shops all along this area and some great places for guests to grab lunch before heading to the wineries.
The Texas Hill Country has really become competitive in the wine industry. This Texas Hill Country & Winery Tour will take guests to up to 3 wineries* where you will have the opportunity to try some of the best wines offered in the Hill Country. Some of these little gems have tours of the wineries as well as tastings and some are housed in historic venues. This is truly an adventure you won’t want to miss.
Price: $65.00 Adults, $60.00 Seniors/Military (includes tax)

*HTT will take guests to 3 wineries whenever possible but can not be held liable if wineries change their hours causing tour to not be able to make it to 3.
**Prices do not include lunch, wine tasting fees, or gratuities. Some wineries have free tours of the winery. Wine tastings vary from $3-$10 per winery.
