Texas Hill Country Plus Adventure

Relax in our comfy van as we head for the hills!  We will take you through the beautiful Texas Hill Country.  First, it’s off to Fredricksburg.  This is a quaint German town and there is something for everyone in Fredricksburg! You can enjoy shopping at the many unique shops, boutiques and antique stores or  venture a visit to The Admiral-Nimitz & the new Pacific War Museums!  Stroll down Main Street with either a beer or an ice cream cone in hand! You will have 4 leisurely hours in Fredricksburg.   Be sure to grab lunch!  Ask your tour guide about the favorite places to eat lunch. 

After lunch, we take a short drive to the LBJ Ranch for a driving tour of the ranch and also, a walking tour of the Texas White House!  New rooms are being opened in 2010, so this is a real treat.  If time allows, we will tour the Sauer-Beckman living history farm and see what life was like in the Texas Hill Country in 1917.

Lyndon Johnson lived across the Pedernales from his neighbors, the Beckmans.  There was no electricity in Johnson City and the surrounding area until about 1943!  Life was hard but rewarding.  This farm is operated by guides in period clothing.  Truly an awesome experience!

Next we head out to visit 2 Texas wineries.  The Hill Country is rapidly becoming the “Napa Valley” of Texas.  You can purchase tastings at the wineries at your discretion.
  
Finally, it’s off to Luckenbach!  This tiny town was made famous by Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings and has a population of 3 (unless someone croaked since we was there last!).  You can hear good ole country music by a number of artists from the Picker’s Circle every day while relaxing with a beer.  You may even catch the story teller spinning a yarn.  Either way, Luckenbach is true Texas treasure that brings the day to an awesome end!

Nothing left now but the drive back to town.  This is usually when our guests catch a snooze so that they will be ready to hit the riverwalk when we arrive back in downtown!  (Don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone that you snored!).  This tour begins with pickups starting at 8:30 am and lasts approximately 11 hours.  We return back to San Antonio around 7:30 pm.
